Amigurumi means crocheting stuffed animals. It is another level of crochet. Personally, I love crochet soft toys more that the readymade soft toys I see from the store. They are satisfying to watch. Cute to keep in home. Good to give it to a baby. The finishing is just awesome.

As a beginner you may assume that it is complicated or you will never reach this level.
But, it is not hard as you think. Nothing is hard. You need your effort and courage. That's it!
These are the points you need to know if you want to start making crochet soft toys.
- Amigurumi is a bit time consuming
Yes it is. But dont worry about. Patience and time gives you a neatness.
- Mathetamtics.
Usually for every piece of crochet work, a pattern of mathematics comes across. Same to amigurumi too. A one raw with the wrong sum would mess all your project.
- Single crochet
Most of them are made with single crochet. Although their are amigurumi patterns with other stitches, plenty of them are in single crochet. I personal think that single crochet amigurumi works ends up great.
- Following patterns
This is the easiest way for beginners to do a good amigurumi. The pattern indicates how many stitches comes in each row. Easy! There are many free and paid sites for amigurumi patterns. Amigurumi today is one of my favourite sites for amigurumi patterns.
- Embroidery
Theres no need experience level in embroidery for amigurumi. Just a basic is enough in case you need to embroider the eyes, nose or the mouth or attach ears, hands or legs.
Finally, patience is the key. Have a lot of patience, take your own time and make great work.
